Periodic itching may be related to seasonal allergies.
Year after year, these allergens are present in the environment; the only way we have to help our animals is to strengthen their system and reduce the presence of allergens on their body by means of weekly baths with suitable products.
Here are some tips to boost your pet's immune system:
- Feed it a healthy and balanced diet. Ideally, a varied, high-quality fresh raw food.
- Take a course of probiotics at the beginning of each spring and fall for one month with a good probiotic.
Avoid over-vaccination and the use of chemicals on your pet. Consider antibody titration, offered by some veterinarians, before deciding to vaccinate. Talk to your veterinarian about it.
- Make sure you don't use harmful household products on surfaces that come into contact with your pet. Pay particular attention to floor cleaners, laundry detergent, and fabric softener. Use certified organic products and, ideally, water and vinegar when possible.
- Avoid walking your dog in areas treated with pesticides (lawn, golf course, agricultural field).
It’s also possible to try various supplements such as the product from Dr. Raw:
It’s ideal to start using this type of product 2-3 weeks before the period when allergens are present.
While these supplements may work for some dogs, they’re not always effective, and the most effective way is to work on strengthening your dog's immunity throughout its life. Every little bit helps!
