Did you know that 40% of dogs have a health problem?
Yes, yes, 40% of dogs.
This means that approximately 1 in 2 dogs has a health problem. As an agronomist, I see this every week in consultations, and the main issues we encounter are digestive issues, itching, urinary issues, and many cases of cancer. Obesity is also a common problem in dogs.
These statistics are disconcerting, and when I first heard them, I thought they made no sense. As a dog owner, I understand how stressful and worrying it’s when our pet suffers from a health problem. We want them to recover quickly and stop suffering. On top of that, it can lead to significant veterinary bills. A health problem in our dog is something we don’t want.
In any case, my goal is to provide possible solutions, because a proper diet can do a lot to improve a dog's health. If your dog doesn't have any issues right now, that's great, but don't wait until they do!
If you have time, I recommend watching this video, where I discuss scratching, itching, skin issues, ear infections, and dental issues, which are common issues in many dogs. Otherwise, no worries, I've summarized the main signs to look out for below!
4 signs to assess your dog's health:
1. Scratching
2. Ear infections
3. Dental tartar
4. The condition of the hair
If your dog is experiencing any of these issues, the first thing to do is consult your veterinarian, and then investigate their diet. Choosing a balanced and appropriate diet can make a big difference in your dog's life. Nutrition is the foundation of good health, and my goal is to reduce the number of dogs suffering from health issues. By carefully observing your dog and making the necessary adjustments to their diet, you can improve their health and well-being.
